Apple has filed a lawsuit against the popular leaker Jon Prosser, alleging that he stole trade secrets pertaining to the upcoming iOS 26 update.

The lawsuit has claimed that Prosser planned to gain access to an Apple employee's iPhone, which held private data related to the software.

The company noted that another man, Michael Ramacciotti, allegedly got hold of the passcode for the employee, an Apple software engineer, Ethan Lipnik, and followed him around to access the iPhone without authorisation.

According to Apple, Prosser recorded the video call in which Ramacciotti demonstrated the software to him, and later used it to create renders of the upcoming design changes.

In a series of videos, Prosser, known for his tech leaks on the YouTube channels, Front Page Tech and Genius Bar Podcast, highlighted the features of the upcoming iOS update, which were then believed to be iOS 19.

Nonetheless, Prosser has denied the accusations, claiming that Apple's version of events is not correct.

"I did not 'plot' to access anyone's phone. I was without a password. I had no idea how the information had been gathered," he said.

The Cupertino-based tech giant has appealed the court to stop Prosser from revealing its trade secrets.
