With Eidul Fitr 2025 fast approaching, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that Eid is likely to fall on March 31.
The prediction has reportedly been made on the basis of the Shawwal moon, which the Met office anticipated to be born on March 29 at 3:58pm.
The Eidul Fitr prediction for this year comes in the face of Muslims all over the country lively engaging in the festive season while bracing for Eid moon sighting, which indicates the arrival of Eidul Fitr and the completion of Ramadan.
As noted by the PMD, the moon’s age will be approximately 27 hours at the time of moon sighting on March 30. It added that the moon shall be visible in the sky for an estimated 70 minutes following the sunset.
It's worth mentioning that a moon aged 20 hours can be easily spotted with the naked eye, without requiring any equipment. Whereas, moons aged 16 to 18 hours need a telescope to be observed.
When is Eidul Fitr in Pakistan in 2025?
Considering Met Office's predictions, there's a strong indication of the moon being visible to the naked eye on March 30 followed by Eidul Fitr the day after, however, a final announcement based on strong evidence will more precisely determine the day when Eidul Fitr 2025 will be celebrated across Pakistan.
