Nothing has rolled out a significant update to its Essential Space app, improving the overall functionality and integration across the recently launched Nothing Phone 3, Phone 3a series.
This app, which is accessed using the new Essential Key hardware button introduced with the 3a series and now standard on the Phone 3, allows users to quickly launch tools for capturing voice notes, photos, and text entries.
Among the most notable improvements is the integration with Google Calendar. This will help users stay organised and manage their tasks by allowing them to sync their Essential Space-created to-do lists with Google Calendar.
This integration aims to boost productivity and eliminate the need to juggle between multiple apps.
The update also introduces new sharing options for the app’s voice recording feature, Essential Recorder. Summaries generated by the app can now be shared as images, PDFs, or in markdown text format.
While it might not match Google Recorder’s full transcript sharing via link, the added options bring more flexibility to how users can distribute their content.
Moreover, the update adds the ability to edit both Memory summaries and Recorder-generated text. Since AI-generated content can often require refinement, this feature allows users to correct inaccuracies or personalise summaries to better reflect their intent.
According to Nothing, the updated Essential Space app is already available for the Nothing Phone 3 and will be rolling out soon to the Phone 3a series.
