In a development indicated Pakistan IT industry's promising performance, IT exports in Pakistan have registered expeditious growth in the first ten months of the fiscal year 2024-25, rising 21% year-on-year.

Official data showed that remittances from the IT sector reached $3.142 billion during July to April, up from $2.594bn in the same period last year.

In April 2025 alone, IT exports in Pakistan rose 2% compared to April 2024, amounting to $317 million. However, the sector saw a month-on-month decline of 7% from March 2025, when exports remained $342m.

The previous fiscal year's IT exports in Pakistan reached a record high of $3.223bn, reflecting a 24% increase compared to last year, TechJuice reported.

In spite of incredible growth, the government noted that a significant portion of IT export revenue has not been remitted, for which an ambitious target has been set to increase total IT exports from $3.2bn in FY24 to $4.2bn in FY25.

In this remarkable feat for Pakistan's IT space, approximately 2.32 million freelancers contributed around 15% to total IT exports, with further efforts underway to retain and bolster this pace.
