Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon on Saturday announced a crackdown against vehicles without a number plate across the province.

The IG Memon issued a letter, directing all high-ups of the Sindh Police regarding action against vehicles without a number plate and travelling in the province. Moreover, he instructed them to take strict action under the motor vehicle ordinance against such lawbreakers.

"Citizens must follow the traffic laws while driving on the roads," added IG Sindh.

It should be noted that Sindh Traffic Police recently launched a faceless e-challan system in Karachi with an aim to reduce road accidents and make it mandatory for citizens to obey traffic laws.

Earlier, Director Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah warned citizens about receiving fake SMS in the name of e-challan.

Following multiple fake e-challan SMS, DIG Traffic said: "Traffic police is currently not sending e-challans via SMS," adding that "citizens are advised to stay away from this type of fraud."

You can easily check and track e-challans for traffic violations through the recently introduced app 'Tracks Citizens'. The app requires users to log in with their ID card, and once logged in, all vehicles registered under their CNIC will automatically appear within the 'Tracks Citizens' app.
