Microsoft has officially announced its next Xbox Games Showcase, which will be streaming live on June 8 at 1pm ET. The company confirmed that the event will feature upcoming games from both first-party Xbox studios and third-party game developers across the globe.

This year's Xbox Games Showcase is expected to be one of the biggest events of the summer, following the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 just days earlier on June 5.

The Showcase will be followed by a separate presentation focused entirely on The Outer Worlds 2, a highly anticipated space adventure game set to release later in 2025.

The Outer Worlds is a role-playing game that allows players to explore a futuristic galaxy, make choices that impact the story, and interact with bizarre and fascinating characters.

Additionally, the follow-up, developed by Obsidian Entertainment, looks to expand on everything that made the first one a fan favourite.

Last year's Xbox Games Showcase included big releases such as Doom: The Dark Ages, Starfield, and Perfect Dark. This year, fans are also expecting more details on upcoming titles such as the next Call of Duty and other major holiday titles. Fable, however, which was teased earlier, won't be seen because it got pushed to 2026.

Its 2025 showcase will also happen shortly after Summer Game Fest, which is scheduled for June 6. These events have become critical dates on the gaming calendar since the demise of E3.
