Kwikset Halo Wi-Fi Smart Lock

The Kwikset Halo Wi-Fi Smart Lock is built around simplicity and access management. Its integrated 2.4GHz Wi-Fi allows the deadbolt to connect directly to a home network without requiring a separate bridge or hub.

One of its biggest advantages is its 250-code capacity. The Halo Wi-Fi also includes useful everyday features such as geofence auto-unlock, customisable auto-lock, SmartKey re-keying, and a backlit keypad.

Kwikset Halo Select Smart Lock

The Kwikset Halo Select takes a more modern smart-home approach. Like the standard Halo Wi-Fi, it offers Wi-Fi connectivity, but it adds Matter 1.2, Thread, and Bluetooth to the wireless platform.

It supports Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings, making it much more flexible than the standard Halo Wi-Fi.

Its touchscreen keypad provides a cleaner and more modern interface, while the companion app can be used for access management and guest codes.

However, the main limitation is that the Halo Select does not include a fingerprint reader.

Which Kwikset smart lock should you buy?

The Kwikset Halo Wi-Fi is the better choice if your priority is high-capacity access management. On the other hand, the Kwikset Halo Select is the better choice for users who want broader smart-home compatibility.
