In a dramatic turn of events involving the renowned RPG series Assasin's Creed and Elon Musk, the developers have responded firmly after the latter called Assasin's Creed Shadows a “terrible game”.
Replying to his derogatory remarks to the already popular Assasin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft, the developer behind the game, took a cheeky jibe at Musk, stating: “Is that what the guy playing your Path of Exile 2 account told you?”
Ubisoft's remarks pointed at recent claims surfacing on the internet about Musk paying other gamers to tout his character in the Path of Exile 2, the popular action RPG by Grinding Gear Games.
The controversy sparked recently when the Tesla boss took to his microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), generating enormous buzz around the impending Assasin's Creed Shadows by mocking the well-known Twitch streamer Hasan Piker.
Famed as HasanAbi, Hasan was endorsing the widely-played title in a sponsored live stream wherein Musk called him a “fraud” and a “sell-out”, inciting widespread ire from streamers and game studios.
The tech billionaire also wrote that Hasan was only playing the game “just for the money.”
Surprisingly, the developer's response surpassed the popularity of Musk's comment, having 12,000 likes, by a huge degree, garnering over 164,000 likes.
