
Oppo is gearing up to set a new benchmark in the foldable smartphone market with its forthcoming Find N5, which is being touted as the world’s thinnest foldable device, expected to launch in February.
At just 3-4mm thick when unfolded, the Find N5 is expected to surpass the current titleholder, the Honor Magic V3, which measures 4.35mm thick.
Taking to Weibo, Oppo’s Chief Product Officer Pete Lau revealed that the Find N5’s ultra-slim design is “as thin as a standard pencil,” making it a standout device among foldable smartphones globally.
In addition to its sleek design, the phone is likely to feature a titanium alloy hinge, offering enhanced durability despite its incredibly thin profile.
Rumoured specifications
While Oppo has yet to unveil the full specifications of the Find N5 officially, reports suggest that the device will be powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with a massive 5,900mAh battery with support for 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Photography enthusiasts can look forward to a triple camera setup led by a 50MP primary rear camera, promising top-notch image quality.
Although the Find N5 is initially slated for release in China, Oppo’s history of rebranding its foldable smartphones for international markets hints at the possibility of a OnePlus Open 2 release for global customers.
Foldable phones are typically bulkier than smartphones, making thinness a critical feature. With the Find N5, Oppo aims to combine enlarged screen real estate with a lightweight design, offering an attractive option for budget-conscious users who are seeking for a premium thinner smartphones.
