After a decline since early 2024, the global smartwatch market resurged with an 8% year-on-year growth in Q2 2025. This comeback was mostly driven by strong demand in China which stood as the largest contributor to global shipments during this period.
Other Chinese brands also thrived, with Xiaomi reporting a 38% rise in shipments and Imoo achieving 21% growth, highlighting China's growing impact on the market recovery.
On the contrary, both Apple and Samsung registered a 3% decrease in their smartwatch shipments. It must be noted that Apple is still leading the premium smartwatch segment, thanks to its high-priced, feature-rich devices.
It was also predicted in the report that a continued recovery in the smartwatch market will take place, forecasting a 7% overall growth for 2025.
The report stresses that emerging markets and high demand in Asia will be crucial for the sector's expansion.
