Pakistan and Iran have doubled the number of flights between the two nations to nine flights a week, in what is expected to enhance trade, tourism, and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
The announcement was made by Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran Mudassir on Sunday. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he said the expanded air connectivity reflects growing cooperation between Islamabad and Tehran and is expected to support business ties and regional travel.
“I am pleased to share that direct flights between Pakistan and Iran have increased to nine flights per week,” the ambassador said.
Moreover, a number of routes stretching between Mashhad, Tehran, Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Quetta, conducted by Iranian carriers Iran Air, Taban Air, Mahan Air, Kish Air, and Iran Air Tour, have been taken into consideration.
Flights from Mashhad to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Quetta, besides flights from Tehran to Lahore and Islamabad, will be operated over different days of the week.
Several routes will offer return journeys within the same day. It will be easier to travel with the new flight schedule for pilgrims, businessmen, students, and foreigners.
Pakistan and Iran share deep historical, cultural, and religious ties, and air connectivity has long been seen as a key factor in improving bilateral engagement. In recent years, both countries have expressed interest in enhancing cooperation in trade, energy, and regional connectivity.
