Notably, the government has authorised the establishment of the Pakistan Digital Assets Authority (PDAA), a newly established authority that will manage financial services and developments through blockchain technology.

It aims to regulate the informal $300 billion crypto market, tokenise national assets, and encourage bitcoin mining using excess electricity.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb commented that this represents a new chapter in terms of the country’s economy.

"Pakistan stands at the threshold of a digital transformation,” he said, noting our aim to make Pakistan a centre for secure and accessible digital finance.

Bilal Bin Saqib is also going to speak at the Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las Vegas, where he will be representing Pakistan on stage along with the global tech and policy leaders.

With over 50 million crypto users, and 70% of the population under 30, Pakistan is well on its way to take leadership roles in crypto adoption, blockchain innovations, and artificial intelligence advancements.
