In a remarkable development in favour of those studying in Pakistan, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday announced that the number of electric bikes, slated to be distributed among students across Punjab, will be increased to 100,000.

Announcing a significant hike in the number of electric motorbikes, which the government intends to offer to students free of cost, she noted that the federal government was undertaking the best possible measures to facilitate students across the province.

The Punjab chief minister made these remarks while addressing an event organised for the distribution of scholarship cheques to students as part of the Honahaar Scholarship Program at Bahauddin Zakaria University in Multan, as reported by Radio Pakistan.

Until now, she outlined that the government has distributed 30,000 electric motorbikes among students, providing them with efficient and environment-friendly means of mobility.

Besides fulfilling students' transportation needs and extending interest-free loans to entrepreneurs, the government will also support deserving students in terms of finance.
