Qualcomm's Snapdragon X platform unveiled in India with 45 TOPS AI performance

Qualcomm officially launched its new platform, Snapdragon X, in India on Monday. The newly launched processor comes as the fourth model in the Snapdragon X series, adding to the Snapdragon X Elite, X Plus (10-core), and X Plus (octa-core) chipset. 

The chipset is aimed at affordable Copilot+ PCs, which was initially launched at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025. 

Snapdragon X CPUs released in India

The company officially revealed the release of the affordable cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI)-chipset for PCs and laptops. The X1-26-100 variant chip supports eight Oryon CPU cores with a max clock speed of up to 3GHz.

The 4nm Snapdragon X CPU is coupled with a Qualcomm Adreno GPU with 1.7 tera floating-point operations per second (TFLOPS), supporting up to three external displays at 4K/ 60Hz.

It comes with a Hexagon neural processing unit (NPU) with up to 45 TOPS of AI performance.   

The Snapdragon X platform consists of a 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM, with a 135GB/s memory network. It supports Windows 11 with the on-device AI feature that is added on several Copilot+ PCs.

For connectivity,  it supports 5G and Wi-Fi 7 along with High-Band Simultaneous (HBS) Multi-Link support. According to the company, the processor is said to offer up to 10Gbps download speed. The Snapdragon Sound Technology Suite has been integrated into the platform for crystal-clear sound with wireless headphones. 

It's worth noting that the recently introduced Snapdragon X platform will first be integrated into the Asus Zenbook A14 and Vivobook 16 Copilot+ PCs, with plans for broader expansion in more laptops in the near future.
