Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has introduced a new requirement for issuing final exit visas. However, foreign workers must ensure that their residency permit (Iqama) has at least 30 days of validity remaining to apply for a final exit visa.
According to the new rules, if the Iqama is valid for less than 30 days, employers or heads of families must renew it before requesting a final exit visa. This change aims to streamline the exit process and ensure that workers have sufficient time to finalise their departure from the Kingdom.
What happens when Iqama validity is between 30 to 60 days?
If the Iqama has between 30 and 60 days of validity, a final exit visa can still be issued, but its duration will match the remaining validity of the Iqama. Whereas, for Iqamas that have more than 60 days left, the final exit visa will be valid for a full 60 days.
Moreover, employers and heads of families can easily manage this process using online platforms, such as “Absher,” “Absher Business,” and the “Muqeem” portal. These services are free of charge and do not require additional fees.
This process ensures that foreign workers and employers have a clear and efficient procedure for exit procedures. The rule applies to workers and dependent family members alike, making travel arrangements smooth and hassle-free.
