Spotify is currently experiencing a major worldwide outage. As the users from all over the world, including the United States, India, and Pakistan, reported having issues accessing the app Tuesday evening.
Spotify is one of the most popular music apps in the world for streaming millions of songs, podcasts, and playlists. With such a massive audience, any disruption creates instant noise online, as we witnessed today.
Spotify is down in Pakistan
According to DownDetector, an online tracking website to check if an app or website is down that users reference, the issue arose at 5:45pm IST, as seen through an increase in user complaints.
In India alone, over 160 users flagged the issue, while in the US, more than 17,000 users reported having problems.
In Pakistan, a number of users took to social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) to confirm their Spotify app was not working correctly, in particular on desktop devices. Many users were reporting a blank homepage and songs failing to load.
In total, out of all complaints globally, 94% are having problems with the app, 5% are having issues with the website and 1% are having problems with the search.
Despite the number of complaints, Spotify has not released or reported on any fix time or issues.
Many users are also frustrated because this is not the first time they are facing issues with Spotify this month. Repeated app crashes and blank pages have led to growing concerns about the platform’s stability.
The platform's support team is yet to respond to the ongoing issue.
