Indus Motor Company (IMC), the manufacturer of Toyota vehicles in Pakistan, will temporarily halt its plants from November 18 to November 20 due to a shortage of essential raw materials and other components.

In a statement filed to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday, IMC underscored that supply chain challenges have adversely affected production, resulting in a temporary suspension of Toyota's ongoing operations.

Pakistan’s auto sector is already encountering extreme difficulties due to the country’s economic growth, alarming rise in inflation, and increased borrowing costs, which have negatively impacted vehicle sales.

IMC further highlighted the difficulties of procuring necessary parts, which has impacted its production sustainability. However, Toyota has been reassured to resume the company's operations.
