
The UAE started taking applications for a 180-day multiple-entry visa enabling individuals living abroad eligible for the status to initiate proceedings for the UAE's new Blue Residency Visa.
The Blue Residency is a unique 10-year visa introduced by the UAE government. It is for those who have made a significant contribution in the areas of environmental conservation, sustainability, and renewable energy. This includes activities in the UAE and globally.
As per the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), the new multiple-entry visa will assist applicants in finalising the necessary procedures for the long-term Blue Residency while residing outside the UAE.
Who is eligible for the UAE Blue Residency visa?
The Blue Residency is for key environmental players, green tech investors, researchers, scientists, and environmental experts.
One can apply via the ICP website or mobile app, taking approximately seven minutes. Applications are completed in a day if all documents are accurate
To apply, applicants need to have a valid passport, passport photo, and evidence of their environmental work.
This programme is a follow-up to the announcement made at the World Government Summit 2024, where the UAE granted the first Blue Residency visas to 20 international leaders in climate action and sustainability.
