Wego, a leading travel platform in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has expanded its services in Pakistan. The company has introduced its “Book on Wego” feature, allowing users to book flights and hotels directly on its app and website.
This eliminates the need for third-party sites, making travel planning easier and faster for Pakistani travellers.
Wego expands travel services in Pakistan
Pakistan’s travel market is growing rapidly, with more people searching for flights and hotels online. According to Wego, domestic flight searches have increased by 120% year-on-year, while Saudi Arabia remains the most popular international destination, seeing a 100% growth.
The company intends to simplify travel bookings and offer competitive prices through its global network.
Moreover, to strengthen its presence, Wego will participate in the Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM) 2025, a major travel and tourism event. This will help the company connect with local travel agencies, industry leaders, and travellers to showcase its services.
Wego has obtained a Travel Agency license from the Department of Tourist Services Pakistan and International Air Transport Association (IATA) accreditation, representing a major milestone in its growth. Wego Chief Flights Officer Dean Wicks highlighted that these milestones will allow the company to offer better airfare deals and seamless travel services to Pakistani customers.
Furthermore, to attract more travellers, Wego is also offering a free eSIM with 1GB of complimentary data for users booking international flights. This will help travellers stay connected upon arrival and extend their data plans at affordable rates.
Wego Pakistan Director Ubaidullah Sarwar stated: "Our expansion reflects our commitment to delivering a world-class travel booking experience. PTM 2025 is a perfect opportunity to engage with the local travel community and drive growth in Pakistan’s tourism sector."
He further noted that Wego’s advanced technology and local expertise will enhance travel accessibility, making it more convenient and affordable for Pakistani travellers.
