WhatsApp is preparing a new “star-mark” feature for Channel updates in the iOS app version. This addition to the application will let users mark all those updates in the Channel that are quite important and need to be saved separately.
The feature is said to be useful if you want to save a special update and prevent it from missing in the flow of other updates.
The company has already made such a feature for the Android app version. Now it is bringing the same capability to iPhone users, offering immense convenience.
The “Star-mark” feature is available for individual and group chats. Currently, WhatsApp is expanding this tool to Channels.
Using this feature, you can mark specific updates and look for them at any time without scrolling through the entire Channel.
How to use “star-mark” feature on WhatsApp iOS
- Tap and hold an update in the Channel.
- A pop-up window will appear with certain options.
- Click on the Star option.
- To access the marked updates, visit the Channel Info page and click the “Starred” option.
Thus, users can manage, view, and even unstarred these updates anytime. It is important to note that in case you unfollow a Channel with starred updates, all the marked articles will be removed and you won’t be able to access them again.
WhatsApp is rolling out this feature to limited beta testers via the TestFlight Beta Program. However, it’s expected that the feature will be rolled out to all users soon.
