WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature, which will allow users to search for draft messages through a preset chat list, alongside having an advanced messaging experience.
According to WABetaInfo, the new chat list for draft messages, available in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.18.17 update, allows users to locate all chats with draft messages.
A draft message refers to any text that has been typed in a conversation but has not yet been sent.
Notably, it is marked with a green colour within the chats list to make it noticeable for users. Currently, users are required to scroll through their entire chat list to find conversations that contain draft messages, which can be time-consuming, especially for those who engage with a large number of chats.
WhatsApp's new feature
To note, the Meta-owned instant messaging app aims to streamline the process with its upcoming feature by introducing a specific filter that will automatically show all chats with unsent drafts in the future.
As per the WABetaInfo, the new feature will be particularly convenient for users who often compose messages across multiple conversations and leave them unfinished.
By simply selecting the new "Drafts" filter, users will be able to instantly bring up a dedicated list of all conversations that contain unsent messages.
This convenient tool will help ensure that no important message is accidentally forgotten or overlooked due to distractions or busy schedules.
This new filter will be a preset option, which means that users won't need to manually set it up or configure anything once the feature becomes available, as it will appear automatically when draft messages exist.
In addition, users can remove the draft filter at any time if they do not find this list useful.
The preset chat list for draft messages is under development and it will be available in a future update.
It is worth noting that WhatsApp has yet to make any official statement about the availability of the feature.
