Zindigi, JS Bank's leading digital banking initiative, has partnered with PostEx, a courier service, to digitise cash-on-delivery (COD) payments, revolutionising the e-commerce and logistics landscape in Pakistan.
According to a statement released on Friday, this collaboration introduces two groundbreaking projects aimed at solving a significant real-world challenge faced by logistics companies.
With COD accounting for 90% of e-commerce transactions in the country, the reliance on cash has created challenges for customers, merchants, and delivery riders, as using cash comes with risks, including the possibility of loss or theft.
Dynamic QR feature
The new dynamic QR feature focuses on transforming COD payments. Powered by Raast, this feature enables riders to seamlessly generate QR codes from their PostEx application and collect payments securely using various banking apps.
Initially launching as a pilot project across six major cities, this initiative aims to build trust in digital payments, reduce reliance on cash transactions, and pave the way for a cashless economy.
Wallet integration
On the other hand, the wallet integration initiative enables the seamless incorporation of digital wallets, allowing for fast and secure transactions.
While commenting on this collaboration, Zindigi chief business officer Atif Ishaque stated: “This partnership with PostEx reflects our vision of leveraging technology to enhance everyday financial interactions.”
He emphasised that this partnership aims to empower customers with convenient, secure, and cashless payment options and will contribute to the broader goal of financial inclusion and digital transformation in Pakistan.
However, PostEx CEO of Logistics Jawad Mirza noted: “Incorporating QR payments into the last-mile delivery process is a game-changer for the logistics industry.”
“By digitising cash-on-delivery (COD), we are driving the logistics sector towards a more tech-enabled ecosystem,” he concluded.
