Air Karachi, a recently introduced airline, has applied for a Regular Public Transport (RPT) license from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) to begin commercial flight operations.
The airline plans to offer passenger and cargo services on both domestic and international routes.
Notably, Air Karachi aims to create new opportunities, improve services, and increase connectivity for both passengers and cargo businesses.
Air Karachi to start passenger and cargo flights
The company has submitted a formal application, a detailed business plan, and the required documents. In its request, Air Karachi stated its commitment to operating under CAA regulations and contributing to the aviation industry.
“The management at Air Karachi has extensive experience in the aviation sector. We are prepared to deploy the necessary resources and personnel to make this project successful,” the airline mentioned in its letter.
The statement also appreciated the National Aviation Policy 2023, which supports a liberal business environment and encourages new airlines to enter the market.
It should be noted that Air Karachi (Private) Limited, which is backed by a well-known Karachi-based business group, was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in November 2024.
The company sees great potential in Pakistan’s aviation sector, especially after the government’s efforts to privatise Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
If granted the RPT license, Air Karachi will join Pakistan’s growing airline industry and compete with existing carriers.
