Punjab's first airline, 'Air Punjab'
During a meeting, Maryam Nawaz Sharif issued instructions to commence operations immediately. She instructed officials to rent four Airbus planes for Air Punjab.
Moreover, the airline will initially fly within the country with flights between Pakistan's major cities. In a year, it will introduce international flights as well.
The chief minister reiterated that the lease should only be for the new and most up-to-date aircraft. She explained that Air Punjab needs to provide improved service, safety, and comfort compared to other carriers operating in Pakistan.
A comprehensive plan for operating the airline was discussed during the meeting. Steps have already been taken to source aircraft, train personnel, and complete legalities.
The introduction of Air Punjab would be a big milestone in the history of aviation in Pakistan. It will create new employment opportunities and increase economic growth in Punjab.
Additionally, now that the provincial airline has begun operations, individuals will have increased domestic flight options in Pakistan.
