After several months of speculation, AirPods Pro 3 seem to be on track to release soon. According to rumours surfacing, Apple plans to reveal its latest premium earbuds this fall.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman explained in detail Apple’s roadmap for products, and AirPods were featured among Apple Watch updates, faster Vision Pro headsets, iPad Pros with the M5 processor and—most interestingly—new AirPods Pro.
He repeated that Apple was working on heart-rate monitoring for AirPods, which could make them more different than previous generations.
This is newsworthy because AirPods Pro 3 has been a major wild card for Apple this fall. While earlier leaks suggested a 2025 debut based on references in iOS code, which differ among analysts, Ming-Chi Kuo said, "AirPods may not be able to receive significant updates until 2026," confusing Apple fans even more.
However, Gurman's news brings new clarity to the situation. Historically Apple uses a three-year gap for AirPods Pro refreshes, and since 2022 is when the last AirPods model was released, this seems to fit that pattern like a glove for fall 2025.
If Apple sticks to its typical timeline, AirPods Pro 3 could be unveiled alongside the iPhone 17 lineup in September. These new earbuds are expected to feature better sound quality, improved active noise cancellation, health-tracking features, and possibly USB-C charging, continuing Apple’s move away from Lightning connectors.
