We've been encountering rumours that claim that the tech giant Apple is about to introduce some foldable devices in the very near future, some even specifying them to possess similarities with the Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip.

Now, corroborating to these rumours has come a report from Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst, saying that the company is actively working on a 20-inch foldable MacBook which it aims to roll out in 2027.

In the same post he suggested that the company’s plans to launch a foldable iPhone or iPad remain in the limbo.

Apple's 20 inches MacBook release date

"Apple's only foldable product with a clear development schedule is the 20.3-inch MacBook, expected to enter mass production in 2027," Kuo stated in a post on X (previously known as Twitter). The analyst did not provide comprehensive insights into the specifications and features of the gadget.

Besides Kuo, among a slew of speculations during the past few weeks from various prolific tipsters that also hinted at the development of a foldable device to come out of Apple production facitlity, display industry analyst Ross Young and Korean website The Elec remain atop the list.

Ross Young is a Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst who in 2022 diclosed that Apple is mulling to execute the concept of a foldable notebook. Surprisingly, the timeline of this claim coincided with Mark Gurman's report which clearly stated that the iPhone maker was working to launch a gadget with a 20-inch foldable display.

As per a recent report circulated earlier this year, there have been reports of Apple's exploration into developing a foldable iPhone since 2018, with two different prototypes in consideration. One prototype resembles a regular phone, while the other is more like a folding iPad. However, a Chinese blogger has claimed that Apple's prototypes did not meet quality standards and as a result, the projects have been put on hold for the time being.
