Apple is likely to release the rumoured smart home device in 2025 with a hemispherical base along with a small screen cemented at an angle on the base.

The smart home display would strike a resemblance with the iconic G4 ‌iMac‌ design from two decades ago, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Gurman said the screen and the overall design will be smaller than anticipated, with the screen likely to be "about the size of two iPhones side by side."

Further reports suggested the Cupertino-based tech giant might be attempting to reduce the price by developing small devices, letting users scatter several units of them in different places of the house.

The smart home device is expected to run several iPad-like apps that are substantially perfect for its intended usage like FaceTime, Notes, and Calendar. Moreover, it will serve as a hub for smart home controls, and display media slideshows.

Gurman also said it is “possible” that the device’s base will include speakers, allowing it to work similarly to a HomePod.

Apart from this initial smart home device, Gurman previously hinted towards the release of the most aspiring product featuring an enlarged screen anchored on a robotic arm that would be capable of identifying users and automatically tracking them with their movement around a room. That top-notch product is expected to cost around $1,000 and is likely to be released in 2026.
