As muslims across Pakistan are revelling in the blessings of Eid ul Adha 2025, trips to cattle markets are also in full swing. Willing to purchase sacrificial animals, an overwhelming number of people are reportedly heading to these cattle farms and markets every day, and paying in cash is no longer a desired payment method in this advanced era.
As it stands, easypaisa digital bank is making it more convenient for millions of people this Eid-ul-Adha in the wake of cash-heavy cattle market transactions, allowing users to make payments digitally using the easypaisa app.
Under the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) ‘Go Cashless’ campaign, easypaisa has introduced a Raast-based QR code payment system at select cattle markets in major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Multan.
Farhan Hassan, head of wallet business at easypaisa, stated, “We are dedicated to advancing financial inclusion and empowering Pakistan through customer-centric products.” With over 50 million registered users, easypaisa continues to lead in innovative digital financial solutions, including the launch of "eisipaisa" for sending digital Eidi to loved ones.
This initiative is a way forward to normalise financial access by leveraging the digital infrastructure of the Raast instant payment system.
Eid ul Adha generates massive economic activity in Pakistan, with transactions reaching Rs839.2 billion in 2024. Given the scale of these transactions, easypaisa has provided a secure and seamless platform for online payments, in line with SBP’s mission to enhance the country’s digital financial ecosystem.
To make a payment, users can simply scan the QR code and enter the desired amount. For receiving payments, they can use either a static or dynamic QR code.
