Google Pixel 3 is the third big release in the Pixel series, released in October of 2018. The phone is a light affair, only weighing 148g, yet the body is sturdy, having a glass front and back (Gorilla Glass 5) and aluminium frame. The phone is water and dust resistant as proven by the IP68 rating. The Pixel 3 comes with a P-OLED display panel that can produce 1080 x 2160 (FHD+) pixels of resolution on a 5.5 inches always-on screen.
The Android version running on the phone is Android 9, which can be upgraded to Android 12. Powering this system is Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 845 chipset, which comes with an octa-core CPU, having a max clock frequency of 2.5GHz, and is paired with Adreno 630 GPU. There are only two RAM and storage variants of Pixel 3: 4GB, 64GB and 4GB, 128GB, respectively. No storage expansion support is available.
The Pixel 3 sports a single camera lens at the rear, a 12.2MP dual-pixel PDAF and OIS enabled lens. The camera is supported by dual-LED flash, pixel shift, and auto-HDR features. Furthermore, videos can be recorded at 4K, 30fps, 1080p, 30-120fps, and 1080p, 30fps with gyro-EIS enabled. The front camera, on the other hand, comprises of two lenses, both of them have 8MP count — for wide and ultrawide angle shots, respectively. Auto-HDR and 1080p 30fps video recording are also available.
The phone comes with a meagre battery, having 2,915mAh capacity. As compensation, the battery supports 18W rapid charging via USB Type-C cable, and wireless charging as well. Additional features offered with the phone are fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer.
Google Pixel 3 comes in Clearly White, Just Black, and Not Pink colours.
