Google Pixel 8 is the standard version of the Pixel 8 series. It is the latest flagship device from Google, with high-end specs to go by. The Pixel 8 has a glass back and front (Gorilla Glass Victus) and an aluminium frame. The phone is rated IP68 water and dust resistant, and it weighs 187g. The device comes with an OLED panel that can display 1080 x 2400 pixels on a 6.2 inches screen, coupled with HDR10+, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1400nits (HBM) and 2000nits of peak brightness.
The OS running on the device is Android 14 that is powered by Google’s own chipset the Tensor G3. This chipset has an amazing 9 cores (nona-core) setup, with the highest clock count of 3GHz. This CPU is paired with Immortalis-G715s GPU. The phone has two storage and RAM options: 128GB, 8GB and 256GB, 8GB. Unfortunately, there’s no storage expansion support.
The Pixel 8 has a dual camera setup at the back, a 50MP wide angle lens, with dual-pixel PDAF, OIS, and Laser AF features, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. Supporting features include dual-LED flash, Ultra-HDR, and pixel shift. Videos can be recorded at 4K, 24/30/60fps and 1080p, 30-240fps. The selfie camera comes with a single 10.5MP lens, with auto-HDR and 4K, 24/30/60fps and 1080p 30/60fps support.
The device is powered by a Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 4575mAh. The battery can be charged via 27W USB Type-C charger or an 18W wireless charging device; the phone also supports reverse charging. Miscellaneous features include: fingerprint (under display, optical), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer.
The phone comes in Obsidian, Hazel, and Rose colours.
