Following the attraction of the Google Pixel 8, anticipation about its successor is high. Early renders of the Pixel 9 have already surfaced online, offering a glimpse into what the company's upcoming flagship smartphone might look like.

The renders showcase the device in a blue shade indicating a potential shift in design for the rear camera module, now featuring three cameras on the rear, a significant upgrade from the previous models. The renders also feature flat edges on the Pixel 9, similar to the Pixel 9 Pro. It also has a hole-punch cutout on the display for the selfie camera.

Gadgets360, citing tipster Steve H. McFly, shared CAD-based renders and specifications of the Google Pixel 9 in collaboration with 91Mobiles.

The renders portray a compact design with flattened sides, similar to the latest iPhone 15 series. The handset seems to sport a redesigned rear camera module housing three sensors and an LED flash. This would be a notable improvement compared to previous Pixel models, which typically featured dual rear cameras.

In contrast to the current Pixel 8 and older models, where the camera bar extends across the entire width of the back panel, the Pixel 9 adopts an oval-shaped island similar to the Pixel Fold.

The camera unit includes a new periscope telephoto lens, aligning the regular Pixel handset more closely with the Pro model. The leaked renders showcase the Pixel 9 in a blue colour, hinting at the possibility of multiple colour options at launch.

The dimensions of Google's Pixel 9 are reported to be 152.8x71.9x8.5mm. The device is expected to feature a 6.1-inch screen, slightly smaller than the Pixel 8's 6.2-inch display. Anticipated to be announced in October, the Pixel 9 could run on Android 15 and be powered by Google's in-house Tensor G4 SoC.
