In a fresh bid to recompense for the financial burden borne by the pilgrims, the government of Pakistan has announced to provide massive refunds for those who performed Hajj 2024.

These refunds were disclosed by Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain on Tueday on the sidelines of the confirmation of a significant rate cut in the cost of Hajj 2025 in Pakistan.

For the rollout of refunds, various different factors were taken into consideration such as accommodation in Mina, lodging in Makkah, and Maktab allocation.

Categories of refunds for Hajj 2024

Hajj refunds for the pilgrims of the previous year, as reported by The News, have been categorised into seven different groups Dawn cited the minister for religious affairs as saying.

According to the division, 14% pilgrims (9,588 pilgrims) will receive Rs20,000, 5% (3,358 pilgrims) will receive Rs35,000, 19% (12,981 pilgrims) will receive Rs50,000, 23% (16,037 pilgrims) will receive Rs75,000, 26% (17,828 pilgrims) will receive Rs90,000, 10% (6,784 individuals) will receive Rs110,000, and three% (2,228 pilgrims) will receive Rs140,000.

With the transfer of funds to nominated banks slated to begin within the next two days, the refunds will be passed on to the pilgrims through the designated bank branches.
