To make its social media services stay ahead of the curve in an era marked by artificial intelligence (AI), tech giant Meta is said to have AI-powered video editing features up its sleeves.

It has emerged when the adoption of AI has become a definitive aspect across social media platforms.

Earlier disclosed by Instagram chief Adam Mosseri, these AI features are slated to roll out soon, enabling users to ingrain their video posts with automated edits.

Some of the most noteworthy of these features include background changes, outfit alterations, and even whimsical Muppet-style representations of users.

The upcoming features are powered by Meta’s Movie Gen engine, with Meta willing to stretch the creative boundaries of content creation on Instagram.

While these tools will surely add flare to the scope of visual storytelling on Instagram, they've come under scrutiny from staunch yet credible critics, arguing that these tools might put at stake the authentic, social core of the platform.

On the contrary, Mosseri remarked: “These tools could lead to new creative trends, but the focus must remain on enhancing genuine storytelling.”
