Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch a new model, named the iPhone Air 2, next year. Recent reports hint that the company will continue its 'normal iteration phase', meaning a yearly refresh that keeps the same thin and lightweight design.
According to leaks, the iPhone Air 2 is expected to come with a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with Face ID support, paired with a significant camera advancement on the back.
iPhone Air 2 camera upgrade (expected)
The iPhone Air 2 is anticipated to include a 48MP ultrawide lens along with a 48MP main camera to give you more controls while doing photography and videography.
The iPhone Air's lightweight build is widely praised, but many have pointed out trade-offs in performance and practicality.
The new dual-camera setup is expected to be placed horizontally, unlike the vertical layout used in the iPhone 17 series. However, it is still unclear whether the second-generation iPhone Air will support spatial video recording. Moreover, the iPhone Air 2 will also have a battery upgrade over the current model.
The volume controls are likely to be featured on the left side of the device, along with the Action button. The rear panel could sport a similar pill-shaped camera module, housing two camera lenses, a dedicated microphone, and an LED flash.
