Jazz is set to officially transition to the Digital ServiceCo model on January 1, 2025, strengthening its platform’s leadership across consumer connectivity, digital solutions, infrastructure, and advanced artificial intelligence (AI)-powered offerings. This transformation aims to position Jazz as a digital pioneer in the region.
Emphasising Jazz’s legacy and vision
With over 30 years of innovation, Jazz has consistently revolutionised communities through cutting-edge solutions. Jazz’s CEO, Aamir Ibrahim, underscored the company’s responsibility to lead with “conviction, collaboration, and purpose.”
“The trust of stakeholders, particularly customers and communities, remains the cornerstone of Jazz’s journey,” Ibrahim remarked, adding, “Let’s honour that trust by using the power of digital technologies to create a future where we improve lives, empower livelihoods, and make a lasting impact."
Jazz's achievements in 2024: A solid foundation for transformation
While underscoring Jazz’s accomplishments in 2024, Ibrahim highlighted the company’s commitment to laying a solid foundation for its transformation. He stated, “This year, as we celebrated our 30th anniversary, we also laid the foundation for our boldest transformation yet, evolving into a Digital ServiceCo by creating customer-centric strategic business units (SBUs).”
Jazz has been at the forefront of empowering underserved communities, focusing on initiatives such as digital literacy and women’s empowerment. Through collaborations with UNDP and UN Women, Jazz integrated women-backed features into its products and services, fostering inclusivity. The company’s efforts earned it the prestigious ‘Most Inclusive Organisation in Pakistan’ award at the recent GDEIB Awards.
In 2024, Jazz made significant progress in expanding broadband connectivity, optimising solutions to bridge the digital divide and support Pakistan’s growing digital economy. The company achieved a notable milestone by acquiring up to one million customers within just ten months.
JazzCash, a cornerstone of Jazz’s financial services, now serves almost 45 million customers, processes eight million daily transactions, and digitises PKR 100 billion monthly. Ibrahim emphasised, “Meanwhile, FikrFree, an AI-powered insurance platform, is set to transform Pakistan’s underpenetrated insurance sector.”
Meanwhile, SIMOSA, Jazz’s self-care platform, skyrocketed to 20 million users, including 200,000 non-Jazz customers, showcasing its growing appeal beyond the core customer base.
Advancements in enterprise and AI
Jazz has also expanded its enterprise solutions portfolio, offering IoT, cloud, and cybersecurity services to approximately 300 clients. In partnership with NUST, Jazz unveiled Pakistan’s first Local Large Language Model (LLM) in 2024. Ibrahim highlighted this initiative as a “pioneering step towards AI solutions that promote inclusivity and digital advancement.”
Jazz has further solidified its position as more than a traditional telecom provider, evolving to meet the growing demands of customers with cutting-edge solutions.
As Jazz embarks on its Digital ServiceCo journey, it continues to emphasise innovation, community empowerment, and digital inclusion.
