The federal government of Pakistan on Thursday increased the price of petrol by Rs1.35 per litre to 248.38 per litre.

Moreover, the price of high-speed diesel has been jacked up by Rs3.85 per litre to 255.14 per litre, according to the notification by the Finance Ministry.

The new prices will come into effect from 12am tonight (November 1).

The prices of petroleum products are updated every 15 days in Pakistan adjusting them to the trend of global oil prices and the rupee’s exchange rate to the dollar. "The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices, based on the price variations in the international market," the statement issued by the Finance Division.
