Following an entire night of airspace closure in the wake of war-like situation between Pakistan and India, air travel in Pakistan is gradually resuming after escalation triggered by Indian aggression.

It emerged that airports in Lahore and Karachi resumed limited operations.

Citing aviation officials, Geo News reported that several domestic and international flights took off on Wednesday, marking the gradual restoration of flight operations.

Private airline flight PA-401 from Lahore to Karachi was the first to depart. Whereas from Karachi airport, two international flights and one domestic flight took off, of which PIA’s PK-607 was destined for Dubai.

On the other hand, Turkish Airlines flight TK-709, scheduled for Istanbul, saw delays.

In what further serves as an indication of easing tensions, PIA’s Jeddah-Lahore flight PK-842, which was diverted to Karachi during the airspace closure, continued to its original destination.

Despite the resumption of some flights, the PIA has suspended its routine operations for 12 hours as a safety measure.

The airspace shutdown was prompted by Indian missile strikes in Punjab and Azad Kashmir late Tuesday night.

In response, Pakistan’s military claimed to have destroyed five Indian Air Force jets and a combat drone, while targeting brigade headquarters.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation, and further flight schedule changes remain possible based on security assessments.
