Microsoft has confirmed its next generation Xbox console, codenamed 'Project Helix', which could further blur the line between consoles and PCs.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Microsoft CEO Asha Sharma shared: "Great start to the morning with Team Xbox, where we talked about our commitment to the return of Xbox including Project Helix, the code name for our next generation console.
"Project Helix will lead in performance and play your Xbox and PC games. Looking forward to chatting about this more with partners and studios at my first GDC next week!"
However, Microsoft has not revealed full technical details, while early rumours suggests that Project Helix is designed to blur the traditional boundaries between console and PC gaming. The system is expected to utilize a custom AMD system-on-chip and operate as a hybrid platform capable of running native Xbox titles alongside PC games.
The device is reportedly being positioned as a high-end console aimed at delivering stronger performance while expanding access to a broader gaming ecosystem.
