As nearly every tech juggernaut is in full swing to disclose sophisticated, high-tech innovations up its sleeves at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, Samsung has outclassed the rest by taking the wraps off its massive leap into the realm of top-notch gaming consoles.

Called Flex Gaming, the device is part of Samsung's widespread fleet of display innovations this year at MWC 2025, and chief among the gaming handheld's jaw-dropping capabilities is that it folds in half, inwards from the middle of the display.

For Samsung, the Flex Gaming handheld marks the outset of an entirely never-explored foray into the ever-evolving landscape of gaming hardware, suggesting that the tech giant is eyeing a future where foldable displays will not be limited to smartphones.

The concept behind the gaming handheld is that avid gamers get their hands on a bigger display for an immersive gaming experience and then get to turn it into a tiny, compact device which easily fits in their palms or pockets.

If the idea comes to fruition, it appears to have the potential of outshining leading gaming devices like the ROG Ally X given their huge sizes.

While unveiling Flex Gaming at the MWC 2025, the leading smartphone maker claimed that the handheld boasts a 7.2-inch screen when unfolded, indicating that the display size is pretty much in line with most other handheld PCs. But the unique selling point here is its ability to become a compact, easy-to-carry device when need be.
