The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a mobile app that makes it easy for people to register important life events, such as births, deaths, and marriages, without visiting any government office.
The app lets users update their personal records from the comfort of their home using a smartphone.
It also supports NADRA’s goal of expanding digital access and ensuring convenience for citizens.

The launch was announced during the second meeting of the National Registration and Biometric Policy Framework Implementation Committee. The meeting included officials from federal ministries, regulatory bodies, and provincial departments.
Notably, NADRA Chairman Lt Gen (Retd) Muhammad Munir Afsar said that the new system is an important step toward digital governance in Pakistan. He added that the app will first be available in Punjab before being rolled out to other provinces.
To support this system, biometric verification services are being expanded to union councils across Punjab. These facilities will help confirm the identity of people submitting information online.
During the session, NADRA also gave a live demo of how the app works to the Local Government Department.
In Islamabad, NADRA is setting up one-window counters at union councils. These counters aim to make in-person registration easier for those who still prefer visiting offices.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) also briefed the committee about a national biometric policy to support secure and connected digital ID systems in the country.
