Nothing, the UK-based technology company founded by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, has announced that it will host an event at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. The event, titled ‘Nothing to See’, is scheduled for February 27 and could offer a sneak peek at the company’s next smartphone, the Nothing Phone 3.

Nothing Phone 3: What to expect?

Nothing has not revealed any details about the Nothing Phone 3, the expected successor to the Phone 2. However, based on the company’s previous patterns, we can speculate that the Phone 3 could be launched in July 2024, and the MWC event could give us a glimpse of its features or design.

Nothing is likely to stick to its transparent back design with the Phone 3, as it is one of the company’s signature elements. The Phone 3 could also sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display and a mid-range Snapdragon or MediaTek Dimensity processor, according to a recent BIS certification listing of a Nothing smartphone with the model number A142.

Nothing currently has two smartphones in its portfolio, the Phone 1 and the Phone 2, which are priced at Rs 34,999 and Rs 44,999, respectively, in India. The Phone 3 could be priced similarly or slightly higher, depending on the specifications and features it offers.

Nothing Phone 2a: Coming soon to India?

Meanwhile, Nothing seems to be preparing to launch a new variant of the Phone 2, called the Phone 2a, in India soon. The company posted a teaser on X, a social media platform, saying "something is coming this week".

Although the teaser did not mention the device name, a series of leaks and a BIS listing suggest that the Phone 2a could be the next offering from Nothing in India.

More affordable

The Phone 2a could be a more affordable version of the Phone 2, with some compromises in the hardware and software departments. The Phone 2a could feature a Snapdragon 7-series or a MediaTek Dimensity processor, a lower-resolution display, and a less refined Glyph Interface.

The Phone 2a could also have a different design than the Phone 2, possibly with a less transparent or a completely opaque back panel.

Nothing is expected to announce the Phone 2a in India this week and reveal its price and availability details. The Phone 2a could compete with other mid-range smartphones from brands like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung in the Indian market.
