
Released only three months after the Google Pixel 7, the Pixel 7a is a mid-range Google handset that offers plenty more than its predecessor did, and ranks among the best smartphones at this price.
Google’s Pixel lineup has been more impressive than it is now with Pixel 7a. The smartphone is keeping up with the legacy of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 while enhancing certain areas of it.

Google Pixel 7a features
Design and display
- As the handset is available in two colours, White and Dark Grey, the design of the Google Pixel 7a is very close to its preceding variant, the Google Pixel 6a.
- With 152.4 x 72.9 x 9.0mm dimensions, the Google Pixel 7a features a rectangular strip-style camera island at the upper side of the panel.
- On the front of the phone, the Google logo is quite vividly visible in the middle, and on the camera island, an oval-shaped area with the flash placed at some distance accommodates two sensors.
- The device comes with emboldened bezels besides a thicker chin all over the front panel. Its frame is made of aluminium, and there’s a Gorilla Glass 3 panel on the front with composite plastic on the back.
- While close to the placement of the front camera, it has a punch-hole cutout located at the top-middle of the screen. The power and the volume buttons are located on the right side, whereas the SIM tray is located on the left.
Performance, camera and battery
- While running on Android 13 which is upgradable to Android 14, it is powered by the Tensor G2 processor that fuels a great amount of memory, launching apps, scrolling through the operating system and switching between apps and games go smoothly on this device.
- There’s no lagging in playing the latest games and editing photos and videos with advanced tools such as Adobe Lightroom. The Pixel proves incredibly well for a phone in this price range. If seeking a a fast phone, the Pixel 7a won’t disappoint you.
- It's backed by a 4,385mAh battery that supports 18W of wired charging, whereas the most notable thing is its capacity of wireless charging. But the device takes a little more to charge than its predecessor, taking 45 minutes to get the battery charged to 50%.
- On the rear side of the phone, there is a dual camera system containing a 64MP wide sensor and an ultrawide 12MP lens. The former sensor is new to the Pixel lineup.
