Apple is reportedly working on massive camera upgrade, as new reports suggest the company is testing a 200MP camera sensor for a future iPhone.
As per a post on Weibo, the Cupertino-based tech giant is planning to bring a large 1/1.12-inch sensor. This sensor size matches one expected in the upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra. According to multiple rumours, iPhone 18 series might include dual 200MP cameras, which shows how fast Android brands are moving.
It is important to note that Apple usually tests multiple technologies before making a final decision. So, the timeline remains uncertain for now.
What to expect from iPhone 18 series?
Apple is expected to feature first 2nm chip, a smaller Dynamic Island, and significantly improved battery life — 5,100 mAh expected in the upcoming iPhone 18 series.
A split-launch strategy is anticipated, with 18 Pro models debuting in Fall 2026 alongside a foldable iPhone, while standard models follow in Spring 2027.
Moreover, iPhone 18 series is expected to get improved satellite communication, likely expanding beyond current emergency services. Every year, Apple brings software, along with hardware advancements with an aim to provide its users a better experience and importantly, creating a high competition with rival companies, like Samsung, Google, and Huawei.
