Apple is reportedly working on its iPhone 18 series, expected to be launched later this year, is said to be the first to offer primary rear cameras with variable aperture. This feature would improve the performance of the iPhone cameras in low-light situations.
As per a report from ETNews, Apple iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are likely to be launched, featuring the latest variable-aperture rear camera system.
With variable aperture, the camera will enable the lens to open and close gradually based on the situation, allowing more light in darkness and keeping excess light out in bright settings, offering improved flexibility to iPhones in photography.
Meanwhile, according to Macworld, the headline colour this year will be 'Dark Cherry', a dark red that will supersede the cosmic orange colour from the iPhone 17 Pro.
Apple is reportedly moving ahead with plans to launch its first iPhone featuring a 200MP telephoto in 2028. Recent leaks also suggested that Apple is testing multiple variable aperture lens prototypes for the iPhone 18 series.
However, it is important to note that Apple has yet to officially reveal the details about the launch date and specifications of the upcoming iPhone 18 series.
