In a nod to the nation's historic milestone, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has officially announced a public holiday on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in observance of the country’s Independence Day.
PSX issued a notice by the bourse, the exchange will remain closed for all Trading Right Entitlement Certificate (TREC) holders, staff, and other stakeholders.
On the other hand, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced on Monday that it will remain closed on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in observance of Independence Day.
In an official statement issued, the central bank stated: “The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on Thursday, August 14, 2025, being a public holiday on the occasion of ‘Independence Day’ as declared by the Government of Pakistan.”
In light of the announcement, it has been clarified that all banking operations at the central bank will be suspended for the day.
