
Qualcomm released its latest addition to the Snapdragon X series processors — Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus 8-core. The new processor is set to be at the lower-end spectrum of the personal computer (PC) market.
Moreover, it is set to bring artificial intelligence (AI)-driven Windows Copilot+ capabilities in the $700-$900 range. The Snapdragon X Plus 8-core is powered by Qualcomm’s custom Oryan CPU.
The company claimed that the processor is “61% faster in CPU performance compared to competitors” while handling to “achieve this with 179% less power.”

It is important to note that Qualcomm didn’t share how these numbers were achieved. The arrival of the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processor results in users viewing more affordable — at $1,000 — Windows Copilot+ PCs hitting the shelves from significant brands including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung.
Moreover, this announcement was timed just after Intel officially launched the Core Ultra 2 series (aka Lunar Lake), its entry into the realm of AI-driven Copilot+ PCs. Laptops powered by the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core are set to be available from Saturday onwards.
