If you have lost your ID card or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), don't worry, as the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) on Monday announced that citizens can reapply for a reprint of their CNIC/NICOP.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the authority stated that from the comfort of their home through the Pak-ID mobile app, citizens can apply without any issues.
"If you have lost your ID card or NICOP, don't worry! Be it a NAICOP or a CNIC, in case of loss, recreate it at home with the PakID mobile app," said Nadra.
How to reapply for CNIC/NICOP online
Gadinsider has a guide, which will walk you through the process of reapplying for your CNIC/NICOP in just a few steps.
- Open the Pak-ID app on your smartphone
- Log in to your account on the app
- Click on the ID card icon
- Choose 'Myself' or 'My Blood Relatives', according to your need.
- Remember that if you're applying for your blood relatives, then the person should be present with you.
- On the next screen, click on 'Reprint'
- If you're applying for your blood relative's request, then in that case, facial verification of the blood relative will be required.
- Once you're done with facial verification, click 'Apply', then click 'Done' to proceed.
- On the next screen, select an existing or permanent address in the 'Card Delivery' field.
- Select the processing category where you want to recover the card.
- In the 'Executive' category, after payment of fees, the CNIC/NICOP will be issued within nine days.
- In the 'Urgent' category, after payment of fees, the identity card will be issued within 15 days.
- In the 'Normal' category, the ID card will be issued within 31 days after payment of fees.
- Click on 'Start Application'.
- Once you have clicked this option, your request has been submitted.
After you apply, Nadra will take necessary action on your request. If the request is approved, then the 'Pay Now' option will appear on the right side of your tracking ID. 'Click on the option'.
You can easily pay the fees through e-sahulat like JazzCash, Easypaisa, Raast, or Debit/Credit card. Whereas, NICOP and Pakistan Origin Card (POC) fees can be paid only through debit/credit card.
After the payment of fees, your CNIC/NICOP will be delivered to your selected address within the stipulated time. It is important to note that in the reprint category, all the details on the ID card will remain the same as the old.
