On the sidelines of a user-first OS update for its streaming devices, Roku is up to another Ultra-level streaming box, featuring toned-up speed and performance.
The Roku Ultra 2024 was launched to precede the previous iteration of Roku Ultra, which the company in an official press release claimed is an outcome of customer feedback poured in over the past few years.
Roku Ultra 2024 features
The provision of 30% faster speed than the entire Roku streamer lineup on the new Roku Ultra streamer is said to have stemmed from a more powerful CPU.

The latest Roku Ultra model also boasts HDMI 2.1, ensuring "seamless transitions" between sources courtesy of QMS (Quick Media Switching). The streaming experience gets a splash of immersive charm with support for 4K, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos.
One of the most notable additions of connectivity options offered on the Roku Ultra 2024 is Wi-Fi 6 for improved connectivity.
Although it was highly expected to feature Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 6 will suffice to bring faster Wi-Fi performance to the streaming box compared to the previous model, while also handling congested networks better than before.
New Roku Ultra streamer offers Guide button, Quick Launch button
The top-of-the-line Roku streamer also grants users access to Roku's wide catalogue of TV channels. This feat was reportedly brought about by a new "Guide" button. Another significant highlight of the device is a Quick Launch button which functions as a shortcut for users to quickly jump on their "favourite" shortcuts, such as apps, voice commands, or captions.
