Samsung on Wednesday announced the Android 16 and One UI 8 update to its popular mid-range phones, the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33, across Asia, following its earlier release for the Galaxy A73.

According to the company, the One UI 8 update is focused more on a UI design refresh and smoother performance rather than any major features.

Samsung’s new firmware versions, A336BXXUEGYI8 for Galaxy A33 and A536BXXUHGYI9 for Galaxy A53, have started rolling out in Europe, after launching in Korea last week.

While some users in Pakistan will see the version rollout over the next few days. Once the update is live, you will receive a message about it updating automatically, or you could check manually once the rollout completes by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install to check for an update.

Both devices launched with Android 12 back in 2022 and will receive four big OS updates, which means this is their last one.

Samsung has revamped the interface with a cleaner look and better customisation than with One UI 7. Stock apps like Quick Share, Alarm, Calendar, and Reminder have a redesigned layout with better features.

The update also comes with the September 2025 security patch that improves your device's security and stability.

Since this firmware is a full Android 16-core system update, the download size is also quite large; therefore, it's recommended to download over Wi-Fi.
