Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus 5G is Samsung’s flagship phone released on 14 January, 2021. It comes with a glass back and front (Gorilla Glass Victus) and aluminium frame. The device supports E-SIM technology alongside the usual dual nano-SIM setup.
The display is high-end dynamic AMOLED 2X technology which can produce 1080 x 2400 pixels on a large 6.7 inches screen. The refresh rate on offer is 120Hz with 1300nits of max brightness. The screen is protected by IP68 dust and water resistant feature. Rounding off the additional screen features is the stylus support from Samsung.
The S21 Plus 5G is fitted with a powerful Exynos 2100 chipset for the international version of the phone that comes paired with Mali-G78 GPU. For the US and China market, it comes with Snapdragon 888 5G chip, coupled with Adreno 660 GPU. The max clock count for both chips is 2.9GHz and 2.84GHz, respectively. The OS running onboard is Android 11 (One UI 6), which can be upgraded to Android 14. There are only a couple of RAM and storage options: 8GB, 128GB and 8GB, 256GB.
The main camera at the rear sports three lenses, 64MP telephoto lens with 1.1x optical zoom and 3x hybrid zoom, OIS, and PDAF, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 12MP wide lens with OIS and Dual pixel PDAF. Videos can be captured at max settings of 8K, 24fps, with supporting features such as gyro-EIS and HDR10+. The front camera has a 10MP shooter, with additional features such as PDAF, auto HDR, dual video call, and 4K, 60fps video recording.
The phone is powered by a 4,800mAh Li-Ion battery, which can be charged either by a 25W USB Type-C charger or a 15W wireless charging device; it also supports 4.5W reverse charging. Miscellaneous features are aplenty including: Samsung DeX, Samsung Wireless DeX (desktop experience support)
Ultra Wideband (UWB) support, fingerprint (under display, ultrasonic), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus 5g comes in a suite of 6 colours: Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink, Phantom Red, and Phantom Gold.
